Ashford Brick Expands Color Options in the Texas Market, Giving Customers and Builders a Wider Range of Style and Customization Options

Even More Looks and Styles Can Be Achieved with Oldcastle's New Color Palette

DALLAS (July 18, 2005) - Oldcastle Architectural Products Group, the largest concrete products manufacturer in North America, today announced new color options in its line of Ashford Brick, an innovative cored brick. The new product is expanding its lineup to include six additional color choices, giving Oldcastle customers in the Texas market a variety of 10 colors to choose from when designing and customizing their homes.

"These new shades further enhance Ashford Brick's product portfolio and provide Oldcastle customers with a broader selection of building options," said Chris Bruce, Oldcastle Architectural's Residential Masonry Manager. "The colors incorporate a variety of earth-tone shades and were created to complement the landscape, architecture and design of Texas homes," he added.

Customers may choose from six new Texas-themed colors - Caddo Blend, San Jacinto, Savannah Blend, La Mesa Blend, Salado Blend or Texas Limestone - as well as four original colors - Red River, Hill Country, Brazos Blend or Rio Grande. Like the original palette, the new colors are available in either the smooth or antique finish, allowing for the easy creation of unique and customized looks. Additionally, the integral blending process ensures the color is the same throughout the brick.

"The new colors were created to meet customers' needs for more choices when designing and customizing the fa?ade of their homes," Bruce said. "Initial feedback has been extremely positive - the colors provide customers more freedom to personalize their homes based on individual tastes and preferences."

The new Ashford Brick colors will strengthen Oldcastle APG's position in the market, which will ensure Texas consumers continue to have a wide selection of quality masonry products to choose from. The brick is unique in that, unlike traditional brick, it incorporates five different shapes in one pallet - bullnose, double bullnose, corner, stretcher and 45 - which allows for beautiful trims and accents without the hassle or cost of ordering separate trim pieces. Each piece can be used as a stretcher, adding the additional benefits of less waste and consistent color for all trim pieces.

Ashford Brick is part of the Oldcastle Architectural Products Group, Texas' one-stop provider of building products, offering statewide builder programs and a staff of skilled experts to ensure that each job is a success from start to finish.
